     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public to a press release issued by The Bank of East Asia, Limited on fraudulent website, which has been reported to the HKMA. Hyperlink to the press release is available on the HKMA website for ease of reference by members of the public.
 
     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website concerned or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact the bank concerned using the contact information provided in the press release, and report to the Police or contact the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.

     Police today (July 30) appealed to the public for information on a man who went missing in Wong Tai Sin.
           
     Chen Chaorong, aged 55, went missing after he left his residence in Chuk Yuen South Estate on July 26 morning. His family made a report to Police on July 28.
                
     He is about 1.7 metres tall, 66 kilograms in weight and of medium build. He has a long face with yellow complexion and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a dark short-sleeved shirt, grey trousers and carrying a black rucksack.

     Anyone who knows the whereabouts of the missing man or may have seen him is urged to contact the Regional Missing Person Unit of Kowloon East on 3661 0316 or 9886 0060 or email to rmpu-ke-2@police.gov.hk, or contact any police station.
          
     

  

     The Home Affairs Department will open 19 temporary night heat shelters tonight (July 30) for people in need of the service.

     The shelters will be open from 10.30pm until 8am tomorrow.

     A spokesman for the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department (AFCD) said today (July 30) that samples from a pet cat sent to the AFCD have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

     The case involves a domestic short-haired cat that lived in Tai Kok Tsui. When the owner was confirmed as having COVID-19, the cat was sent for quarantine at the animal keeping facility at the Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge on July 27. Samples collected from the cat by the department tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. However, the cat has not shown any symptoms at present. The AFCD will continue to closely monitor the cat and conduct repeated testing.

     The spokesman reminded pet owners to adopt good hygiene practices (including hand washing before and after being around or handling animals, their food or supplies, as well as avoiding kissing them) and to maintain a clean and hygienic household environment. People who are sick should restrict contact with animals. If any changes in the health condition of pets are spotted, advice from a veterinarian should be sought as soon as possible.

     The spokesman emphasised that currently there is no evidence that pets are playing a role in the spread of human infection with the COVID-19 virus. Pet owners should always maintain good hygiene practices and under no circumstances should they abandon their pets.

The following press release is issued on behalf of the Independent Commission Against Corruption:
 
     To align with the Government's ongoing measures to reduce the flow of people and social contacts in order to stop COVID-19 from further spreading in the community, the ICAC today (July 30) announced that the current special arrangements of the Commission's services will be further extended until August 9.
 
     During the period, except those who are required to provide essential and emergency public services, all other ICAC staff will work from home so as to reduce the flow of people and social contacts in the community.
 
     Meanwhile, the ICAC's Report Centre and the report corruption hotline (2526 6366) will continue to operate round-the-clock to receive corruption complaints and enquiries. All other enquiry hotlines, including the Corruption Prevention Advisory Service hotline (2526 6363), Business Ethics Development Centre hotline (2826 3288), Clean Elections hotline (2920 7878) and the Integrity Building Management hotline (2929 4555) will also maintain their normal operation.
 
     All ICAC Regional Offices will be closed during the period.
