COVID-19 testing service to kaito operators and their employees postponed

     As the Increasing Gale or Storm Signal No. 9 is now in force, the Transport Department announced that the distribution of swab self-sampling kits to and collection of specimens from kaito operators and their employees scheduled today (August 19) at Sai Kung Squash Courts on Wai Man Road, Sai Kung, will be postponed to August 24 (next Monday) from 10am to 2pm at the same venue.




Suspension of services of Transport Department

     The Transport Department today (August 19) announced that the public services under the department, i.e. the Licensing Offices at Admiralty, Cheung Sha Wan, Kwun Tong and Sha Tin, the Public Vehicles Unit and the Vehicle Examination Centres, will be suspended as the Increasing Gale or Storm Signal No. 9 is now in force.
      
     Applicants who have made an appointment for renewal of a full driving licence/vehicle licence, transfer of vehicle ownership, application for an international driving permit, or retention, transfer or assignment of vehicle registration mark, at any timeslot before lowering of the No.8 and 9 gale or storm signals or within two hours after the lowering of the signals may proceed to the Licensing Offices to submit their applications during opening hours (from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday) on or before August 26 without the need of making another appointment.




Flag-raising ceremony cancelled

     As the Increasing Gale or Storm Signal No.9 and the thunderstorm warning are now in force, the flag-raising ceremony to be conducted at Golden Bauhinia Square, Wan Chai at 8am today (August 19) will be cancelled.




All DH clinics closed

     The Department of Health (DH) announced today (August 19) that due to the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 9 being issued, all DH clinics, including Methadone Clinics, will be closed.
 
     The public is advised to pay attention to radio and television announcements.

     The Department of Health (DH) today (August 19) announced that, as the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above is now in force, the collection points of deep throat saliva samples for COVID-19 testing set up in 13 designated chest clinics or dermatological clinics under the DH will be suspended.
