Red flag hoisted at Big Wave Bay Beach

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department announced today (March 23) that due to big waves, the red flag has been hoisted at Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District, Hong Kong Island. Beachgoers are advised not to swim at the beach.




49th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles to be open March 24 to 27

     The Transport Department today (March 23) reminded members of the public that the 49th round of computer ballot registration for submitting applications for Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles (the scheme) will be open from 10am tomorrow (March 24) to 11.59pm on March 27, and the ballot result will be announced on March 28.
 
     Eligible applicants for the scheme can register for computer balloting through the designated website (www.hzmbqfs.gov.hk). Successful balloting applicants are required to submit applications for the scheme within the designated date and time randomly allocated by the computer system.




Breast milk donations save lives

     The Hong Kong Breast Milk Bank, which has recruited over 100 eligible donors and collected more than 300 litres of milk since launching in January, has begun a second phase, offering donated milk to newborns in need at all nine of the Hospital Authority's Neonatal Intensive Care Units.
 
     News.gov.hk spoke to a representative from the milk bank to find out about its operations, while a young mother reflected on how her experience of breastfeeding her own son inspired her to become a donor.

Red fire danger warning

Attention duty announcers, radio and TV stations:

     The fire danger situation today (March 23) is red and fire risk is extreme. The countryside is extremely vulnerable to fire. If you are planning to spend the day in the countryside, please take pre-cooked food for a picnic and take all measures to prevent hill fires. The penalty for lighting fires illegally in the countryside is $25,000 and a year's imprisonment.




CSTB highly concerned about errors found in tickets of Coldplay: Music of The Spheres World Tour printed by Cityline

     â€‹The Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau (CSTB) today (March 22) is highly concerned about the errors in the printing of some of the tickets for Coldplay: Music of The Spheres World Tour by Cityline.

     Upon learning the situation, the CSTB requested Cityline to handle it swiftly and properly, to ensure that the experience of ticket holders would not be affected.

     The CSTB learnt that Cityline has provided several remedial measures, including adding ticket exchange locations in Hong Kong and the Mainland, extending the ticket exchange time period until the performance commences, and refunding the handling fees to affected ticket holders, so as to respond to the requests by those affected.
