Proposed construction of pedestrian link near Chuk Yuen (North) Estate gazetted

     The Government gazetted today (October 27) the proposed construction of pedestrian walkways, lifts and staircases connecting Chuk Yuen (North) Estate and Wong Tai Sin Road in Wong Tai Sin to provide a convenient and comfortable walking environment.

     Details of the proposal are set out in the Annex. The plans and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the works or the use, or both, is required to address to the Secretary for Transport and Logistics an objection in writing, which can be submitted via the following means:
 

  • By post or by hand to the Transport and Logistics Bureau's Drop-in Box No. 6 located at the entrance on 2/F, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong. The box is available for use between 8am and 7pm from Monday to Friday (except public holidays);
  • By fax to 2868 4643; or
  • By email to gazettetlb@tlb.gov.hk.

     A notice of objection should describe the objector's interest and the manner in which he or she alleges that he or she will be affected by the works or the use. Objectors are requested to provide contact details to facilitate communication. A notice of objection should be delivered to the Secretary for Transport and Logistics not later than December 27, 2023.




Tenders invited for site formation and infrastructure works at Tin Wah Road, Lau Fau Shan

     The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (October 27) gazetted a notice to invite tenders for the contract for Site Formation and Infrastructure Works at Tin Wah Road, Lau Fau Shan (Contract No. CV/2023/16). The closing time for the tender is noon on December 22.

     The works mainly include:

  • site formation works of about two hectares at Tin Wah Road, Lau Fau Shan;
  • realigning and widening of an existing unnamed road (commonly known as New Sha Kong Wai Road) to single two-lane carriageway; 
  • widening of a section of Tin Wah Road to dual two-lane carriageway;
  • construction of noise barriers on this section of Tin Wah Road; and
  • other infrastructure works including drainage, sewerage, waterworks and landscaping.

     The works are scheduled to commence in March 2024 and will take about 46 months to complete.

     The CEDD has commissioned AECOM Asia Company Limited to design and supervise the works. Interested contractors may obtain the forms of tender and further particulars from the company at 12/F, Tower 2, Grand Central Plaza, 138 Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin.

Dedicated 100% Loan Guarantee Scheme for Cross-boundary Passenger Transport Trade and Dedicated 100% Loan Guarantee Scheme for Travel Sector extend application period

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:
 
     As entrusted by the Government, HKMC Insurance Limited announced a six-month extension of the application period of the Dedicated 100% Loan Guarantee Scheme (DLGS) for Cross-boundary Passenger Transport Trade and the DLGS for Travel Sector to April 28, 2024.
      
     The above schemes were launched on April 29, 2023 to support the business resumption of the cross-boundary passenger transport trade and the travel sector after the COVID-19 epidemic. Cases of making ex gratia payment from Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund gazetted

     The Commissioner for Labour today (October 27) gave notices in the Gazette under section 16(1A) and/or section 18(2) of the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Ordinance (Chapter 380) for cases with ex gratia payment from the Protection of Wages on Insolvency Fund made to employees.

Proposed road works at Tung Chung Road and proposed Cheung Sha residential site authorised

     â€‹The Chief Executive in Council has authorised the proposed road works at a section of Tung Chung Road and the proposed residential site in Cheung Sha. The notice was gazetted today (October 27).
