LegCo committee meetings

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     The Legislative Council (LegCo) House Committee will hold the first meeting of the 2018-2019 session tomorrow (October 12) at 2.30pm in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex.

     Meanwhile, the LegCo Finance Committee will hold a meeting tomorrow at 3.15pm in Conference Room 1 of the LegCo Complex.




SHA to attend youth forum in Macao

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Lau Kong-wah, will depart for Macao tomorrow afternoon (October 12) to attend a youth forum on the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and relevant events.

     Mr Lau will return to Hong Kong on Saturday afternoon (October 13). During his absence, the Under Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Jack Chan, will be the Acting Secretary for Home Affairs.




Labour Department to hold occupational health public talks

     The Labour Department (LD) will hold a public talk entitled "Occupational health for professional drivers" on October 18 (Thursday). To enhance the awareness of occupational health among professional drivers, the talk will cover common occupational health hazards, preventive measures and common health issues as well as health tips for the drivers.

     The talk will be held at 3pm in the Health Education Room of the LD's Occupational Safety and Health Centre, which is located at G/F, Kwun Tong Community Health Centre Building, 60 Hip Wo Street, Kwun Tong.
 
     The LD will hold another talk entitled "Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders for cleansing workers" on October 22 (Monday). The talk will introduce the common causes and preventive measures of musculoskeletal disorders facing cleaning workers to enhance their awareness of occupational health.
 
     The talk will be held at 6.30pm in Activity Room 1, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay.
 
     Both talks, to be given by the LD's occupational health nurse and conducted in Cantonese, will include demonstration and practice of workplace exercise. Admission is free. For enquiries or registration, please call 2852 4040.




Missing man in Aberdeen located

     Police located a man who went missing in Aberdeen.

     Kwong Lin-kei, aged 53, went missing after he was last seen in a shopping centre in Wah Fu Estate on October 6 morning. His family made a report to Police on the next day (October 7).

     Police located the man on Tseung Kwan O Road yesterday (October 10) afternoon.
 




Latest dates to post Christmas airmail 2018

     Hongkong Post today (October 11) announced the latest dates of posting for this year's Christmas airmail. To ensure that airmail items are delivered before Christmas, customers are requested to post their items on or before the relevant latest dates of posting. These dates are displayed at all counter offices. Alternatively, customers may find the information at Hongkong Post's website at www.hongkongpost.hk.
