Rescheduling of Council meeting

The following is issued on behalf of the Legislative Council Secretariat:

     Under Rules of Procedure 14(3), the President of the Legislative Council has directed that the Council meeting of June 12 scheduled to begin at 11am today be changed to a later time to be determined by him.  Members will be notified of the time of the meeting later.




Alan Kwan to host second run of jazz lecture demonstration series

     Local jazz guitarist Alan Kwan will again host the popular "Jazz Classics: Let's Listen, Let's Jam!" lecture demonstration series in July and August.
 
     In this series of four lectures, Kwan will introduce the audience to the world of jazz legends, with attendees learning about them one by one, hearing their stories as well as interesting anecdotes, and savouring their music works that have attained classic status. Furthermore, audience members can get an opportunity to go onstage and jam with Kwan and his band and special guests. All of the lectures, to be conducted in Cantonese and supplemented with live demonstrations, will be held at 7.30pm at the Lecture Hall of the Hong Kong Space Museum. Details are as follows:

     Alan Kwan studied and developed his career in jazz music in New York. He has performed in New York, Texas, Tokyo and Taiwan with well-known jazz musicians including Dayna Stephens, Fabian Almazan and Paul Bollenback, as well as Grammy award nominee Gene Aitken.
 
     "Jazz Up" Series: "Jazz Classics: Let's Listen, Let's Jam! Vol. 2" is presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. All entrances of CGO have been closed

     Attention duty announcers, radio and TV stations:

     Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     As the access roads leading to the Central Government Offices (CGO), Tamar are now blocked and police has implemented traffic arrangements, all entrances of CGO have been closed until further notice. While staff members are advised not to go to CGO, those already at CGO are advised to stay at their working place until further notice.




Temporary arrangement of entering and existing CGO

     Attention duty announcers, radio and TV stations:

     Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     As the access roads leading to the Central Government Offices (CGO), Tamar are now blocked and police has implemented temporary traffic arrangements, staff working in the CGO are advised not to drive to CGO. Staff can make use of the staff entrance on the 2/F of CGO, East Wing to enter and exist CGO. Staff members are advised to be mindful of their safety too.
