Police appeal to public to stay tuned to crowd management measures and special traffic arrangements on Hong Kong Island

A number of public events will be held on Hong Kong Island today (July 21), including the Hong Kong Book Fair at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Police believe that there will be more people in the vicinity of Wan Chai than usual.

As the dispersal location of the public activities held in the vicinity of Wan Chai will be very close to MTR Wan Chai Station, Police expect that the area near MTR Wan Chai Station and O’Brien Road Footbridge will be very congested, and crowd management measures will be implemented inside MTR Wan Chai Station. Therefore, when members of the public leave HKCEC, they may consider taking public transport at the bus terminus at Convention Avenue or Wan Chai Ferry Pier through the east side of HKCEC, or walking towards Causeway Bay direction.

Members of the public are advised to exercise tolerance and patience and take heed of instructions of the relevant announcement made as well as Police on site.
