Police clarifications (with photos)

With regard to media reports alleging that a Police officer used a modified baton to increase its offensiveness while carrying out duties at MTR Yuen Long Station on July 27, Police today (July 29) issue the following clarifications:

The officer was using a baton with plastic straps encircling its end to fix a rope attached there. As the rope was pulled out while being used, the plastic straps were then slipped to the front part of the baton and caused such misunderstanding.

Furthermore, some online comments raised doubts about the identity of that officer. Police confirmed that the officer is a serving Police Officer.
