After school care programme centres and elderly day services centres operating on Sundays and public holidays remain open

     "The Social Welfare Department announces that while Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 3 has been issued, centres providing after school care programmes and elderly services centres which normally operate on Sundays and public holidays remain open. However, if necessary, members of the public can contact the centres to make arrangements for the safe return home of their children and family members."




Classes of kindergartens and some special schools are suspended

     Please broadcast the following special announcement by the Education Bureau concerning schools, and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     As the Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal no. 3 is now in force, classes of kindergartens, schools for children with physical disability and schools for children with intellectual disability are suspended today. These schools, however, should keep their premises open and implement contingency measures to look after arriving students. They should ensure that conditions are safe before allowing students to return home.




Police to conduct dispersal operation at airport

Please broadcast the following message as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:
 
     A large group of protestors are still gathering at the airport this afternoon (September 1). Some are blocking roads with numerous water-filled barriers and objects in the vicinity of the Sky City Interchange and Chek Lap Kok South Road in an attempt to paralyse traffic. The roads connecting the airport are very congested.
      
     In face of the situation, Police will soon conduct a dispersal operation and warn all protestors to leave and stop their illegal acts immediately.




Green transport benefits community

     Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) has been upcycling its retired buses through donation while its innovative green technologies were commended at the 2018 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence, including its solar-panelled double-deckers, green bus shelters and solar bus stop poles.

     News.gov.hk spoke to the principal and students of a primary school which received a donated bus to find out how the vehicle has enhanced pupils' learning experience, while a KMB assistant engineer explained the science behind its green transport innovations.
