Fraudulent website related to China CITIC Bank International Limited

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:
 
     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) wishes to alert members of the public to a press release issued by China CITIC Bank International Limited on fraudulent website, which has been reported to the HKMA. Hyperlink to the press release is available on the HKMA website for ease of reference by members of the public.
 
     Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website concerned or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact the bank concerned using the contact information provided in the press release, and report to the Police or contact the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.




Public hospitals daily update on COVID-19 cases

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     As at noon today (March 31), public hospitals had reported to the Department of Health the admission of 282 patients (149 male and 133 female, aged 3 to 86) in the past 24 hours who met the reporting criteria of COVID-19. Appropriate tests have been arranged for the patients.
      
     There are 637 patients under isolation currently. So far, 128 patients who had COVID-19 confirmed or probable infections have been discharged upon recovery.
      
     The Hospital Authority will maintain close contact with the Centre for Health Protection to monitor the latest developments and to inform the public and healthcare workers on the latest information in a timely manner.

     Please broadcast the following as soon as possible and repeat it at suitable intervals:

     The Marine Department today (March 31) reminded masters, coxswains and persons-in-charge of vessels navigating in Hong Kong waters to proceed at a safe speed and exercise extreme caution because restricted visibility of less than 2 nautical miles has been reported.

     Appropriate sound signals shall be made when underway or at anchor. All vessels must comply with the International Regulations for Preventing Collision at Sea.

     Also, when radar is used without the benefit of adequate plotting facilities, the information obtained from the equipment is rather limited and should be construed accordingly.

     Visibility reports are broadcast by the Vessel Traffic Centre (VTC) on VHF channels 02, 12, 14, 63 and 67.

     In the event of an accident, a report shall be made immediately to the VTC at Tel: 2233 7801.




“Still & Motion – Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2020” calls for entries

     "Still & Motion – Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2020", jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Hong Kong Designers Association, is now calling for entries. Designers worldwide are welcome to participate in the event organised by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. The submission deadline is May 29, 2020.
     
     Since its debut in 2001, the "Hong Kong International Poster Triennial" is now in its seventh edition. The event comprises three major parts, namely an international poster design competition, an exhibition and a symposium. It aims to assemble a distinct international poster collection, while fostering graphic design education and cultural exchanges with other countries and regions.
 
     The theme of this year is "Still & Motion". The international poster design competition will be organised under four categories: "Ideology", "Promotion of Cultural Events", "Commercial and Advertising" and "Animated Poster". The assessments will be based on originality, creativity and technical competence. In addition to printed posters, the competition welcomes the submission of animated posters to record poster development.
     
     The judging panel comprises five internationally renowned designers, namely Mr Philippe Apeloig (France), Mr Bi Xuefeng (People's Republic of China), Mr Erich Brechbühl (Switzerland), Mr Yukimasa Okumura (Japan) and Ms Lisa Pommerenke (Germany). Each category will feature Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards, and the five judges will each select one outstanding entry from all entries to be presented with the Judges Awards, to be named after the respective judges. All award winners will receive trophies and every selected entry will be published in the catalogue and be featured in the exhibition to be held in 2021 tentatively at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum.

     The Government announced today (March 31) the re-appointment of 12 members and appointment of four new members of the Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education (CPCE), for a two-year term starting from April 1, 2020.
 
    The Home Affairs Bureau thanked outgoing members, Dr Chan Cheuk-hay, Mr George Lau Ka-keung, Mr Timmy Lee Tan-chun and Dr Wong Kwok-yan for their contributions during their term of service.

     The CPCE is a non-statutory advisory body. It advises the Government on the objective and scope of civic education, promotes civic education outside schools through a range of publicity and educational programmes, and assists in the implementation of various funding schemes to support non-governmental organisations in carrying out civic education projects.
